So, you’re ready to put in an organic vegetable garden?
Independence Gardens can help!
At Independence Gardens, we recognize that people encounter various roadblocks to growing their own food, and have made it our goal to help overcome those barriers. We believe that ultimately, a garden can be anywhere, and anyone can grow one.
Independence Gardens is a locally-owned and operated small business; we are licensed, bonded, and insured. We are committed to supporting a strong food system and economy by purchasing sustainable products from local vendors.
We build sustainable edible gardens.
From designing and installing custom gardens and garden structures to providing consultation services for households and organizations in the Portland, Oregon metro area, we help our clients feed themselves, as well as their families, clients, & neighbors.
We can help you learn how to grow your own food…eat fresh, local, and organic…spend less on groceries… Whether it’s in a class or on a consultation, working with you or getting your space built up so that it works for you, we begin right where you are, and give you the jump-start you need to get growing!

Hi Karen,
I had wanted to re-connect and perhaps plan my garden. Could you email me or re-quote the price for above the ground boxes.
thanks,
patrice from NAYA class
Awesome! Yeah, we will do that via e-mail ASAP.
Lookin’ forward to seeing you again.
Hello Independence,
Got your card @ Wichita Feed. I have 270 sq.ft. of garden space but recently threw out low back. Thus looking to pay someone to rototill spot? Do you do this service and if so may I get an estimate?
Also, do you have options for less-labor intense garden to put in as back heals a bit? I want to have some garden, maybe just wildflowers (?) but don’t want to be achy as well. Thank you.
Glad to have met you Karen. Looking forward to gabbing about gardening, vegetables, seeds and everything else.
