We are involved in several summer programs for youth in 2010.
Buckman SUN Summer Program: Wiggle Worms (June 21-25) AND Make It Grow (Aug. 9-13)
Location: Buckman Elementary School, 320 SE 16th Ave.
Hours/Cost: 9 am-1 pm ($80) OR 9 am-5 pm ($150)
Both camps are for grades K-6; mornings will be filled with fun garden-based activities, and afternoons will focus on leadership development.

Title VII ACE Summer Program: June 21-July 16
Location: Atkinson Elementary School
Registration is open to Native American students in the Portland Public Schools.
Karen and Isabel met while volunteering at ACE in 2004; this camp is an experience we look forward to enormously!
Yoshida’s Sand in the City: July 18
We will be offering activities for young people at our booth from 10 am-3 pm at Pioneer Courthouse Square.
The event is FREE, and we hope to see many families there!

Thanks for asking! We will be doing garden-based activities–weeding, watering, playing games, and doing a little “academic” lesson) in the mornings, and then the afternoons will be devoted to leadership development.
