Consultation

If you think you want a garden, but aren’t quite sure what happens next…or you’ve already put one in and want some advice on how to make it shine…Independence Gardens’ consultants will help you decide what you want, and what you need to make it happen. We provide the basics for you to begin with and serve as an accessible resource throughout the rest of the process. Start by filling out our Consultation Questionnaire.

Planning

We create garden plans (including layout and/or timing) that will work for you, then design custom structures to fit your needs. Our simple designs are easy-to-understand and focused on implementation; we have several landscape designers that we work with if you’re interested in more detailed, formalized designs.

Preparation

Whether or not you’ve done it before, when it’s time to put in the garden, it’s always nice to have a couple of extra hands! You can count on Independence Gardens to help prepare the soil, set up a simple composting system to meet your soil’s nutrient needs, and help you find and plant the right crops for any season.

Building

Not only will Independence Gardens design your custom garden structures—we’ll build them, too! We build chicken coops, raised beds, chicken tractors, and chicken-proofing; for custom jobs, we will work with you to choose building materials, sizes and shapes, and options that suit your needs.

Installation

We can install the structures we’ve built, as well as purchased edible plants, amendments, and anything else your garden plan requires. This step is usually where we give you your garden maintenance guide and wish you the best of luck with your new venture!  But if you run up against any challenges, you will always be able to turn to us for help .

Coaching, Consulting, & Classes

Education happens at each and every stage of our process. Independence Gardens also teaches workshops and classes throughout the year on various gardening-related topics.  See our Classes page for more information!
